Disgusted by Bentley, what a waste.

99.9% of kids in this country and in the world dream of being a professional footballer. They dream of playing for the top clubs on the biggest stage, and pulling on their countries jersey.
A lucky few get the chance and one that has made me proud to be English this World Cup is Ricky Lambert.
Working in a factory and playing for Rochdale, all the way to a transfer to his boy hood club Liverpool, and representing the three lions in Brazil.
This is a magical rise and one that isn't heard of on a regular basis.
He has embraced his career when it times it could have been easy to quit the game, and give up his dream to make it pro.
He didn't though and he has reaped the rewards.
A stark contrast is one of David Bentley. This morning it was announced that Bentley would retire at the age of 29 because he had 'fallen out of love with the game.'
Behave Bentley, you were once dubbed the new Beckham, and you didn't live up to the hype, but you're retiring for that reason.
In my eyes that is pathetic. The amount of kids out there who would kill to be in Bentley's shoes, and play in the Premier League, play for England and be a star. And he is giving it all up because basically, he can't be arsed.
He began his career at Arsenal, one of the biggest clubs for producing top class youngsters and has since gone on to represent Norwich, Blackburn, Spurs and Birmingham City as well as grabbing eight England caps.
It is not often I am lost for words, but the more I think about this the more astounded I am.
There is no denying Bentley didn't live up to the hype, but he was still an excellent footballer who should have excelled.
And he is giving up because he has fallen out of love with the game. I used to respect Bentley. Not anymore, the guy is a joke.
No time for things like this. Players have short careers and have to retire at 21 because of injuries and he does this.
Ashamed football fan.
